Jocasta’s
Hairballs’ was
presented as a multimedia, pollyphonous narrative, with characters
drawn from archetypes from across cultures and different time
periods, using still photographs streamed into video, accompanied by
narration and music, to tell from nine different perspectives the
story of Jocasta’s experience of patriarchy and gender violence.
Jocasta’s Hairballs
culminated into a
self-published short story presented alongside some of the images,
which she and a very very nice friend – Hannelie de Klerk took. You
are sure to recognize the voices of the narrators – they are
definitely voices you have heard on previous Saturday slots at XARRA
Books before. The guess is yours… Book will be read and film will
be screened. Saturday, 10 June 2006 @ 15h30
